As an online publisher or affiliate, it is always
important to do everything you can to encourage repeat
business. After all, first-time customers are not only
the easiest to re-sell if you follow my tactics below--
they are the least expensive.

So how do you gain and foster trust in the eyes of your
new customer? How do you get them to spend their hard-
earned money with you again and again?

Over the years, I've identified 11 important keys to
gaining and fostering online trust with your customers.
By consistently keeping these tactics in mind when selling
online, you'll keep your customers happy and take your
sales to a new level.

#1: Establish a Track Record
This is the most effective way to build trust. Each
time you sell a product or make a promise, make sure
you do exactly what you say. Over a period of time,
your customers will feel comfortable with taking you
at your word without question.

If you breach this trust or betray them it will cost
you future sales in the long run. Establishing a track
record takes time, but it's well worth it.

#2: Follow Up
After making a sale, make sure to contact your customer
within 24 hours and find out if they're happy with your
product or service. People will respect you for
following up. This shows your customer that you care
about them.

#3: Keep in Touch
This is a long-term version of following up. After you
make a sale, keep in touch. Send an email asking the
customer how they liked your product. If possible, and
if you have their permission, call them as a follow up.
Find out if your product is performing as promised.
This builds a bond with your customers.

Usually when a merchant rips someone off or makes a shady
deal, they disappear. Many online merchants make returning
a product or getting customer service support almost
impossible. By staying in touch, you demonstrate a level
of integrity that'll put customers at ease when they do
future deals with you.

Here's another idea -- start a newsletter and, as long
as you have their permission, reach out to
your customers at least once a month, or send them an online

#4: Go the Extra Mile
I think Harvey McKay, author of Swim with the Sharks
without Being Eaten Alive, says it best, "Underpromise"
and "Overdeliver." This means doing more than what's
expected. Unfortunately, it's usually the other way around.
By doing more, you add more value. It's more than just
delivering quality--it's delivering a level of quality
and integrity that goes above and beyond the initial
promise.

When you go the extra mile and truly satisfy the other
party, you make yourself indispensable to them. An
example would be sending a special email every once in
a while to all your customers with an article or tip
relating to your product (just make sure you have their
permission first). This will not go unnoticed.

#5: Show Empathy
Most prospective customers are not just poor decision
makers--they're terrible. They may be terrified to buy
online or spend a certain amount of money. Understand
this is a weakness and help them. Be willing to assist
customers in making a decision. Give them an outstanding
no-questions-asked promise. Provide multiple testimonials.
Provide an 800# where customers can call if they have
questions. Put yourself in your prospective customers'
shoes and think like they do.

#6: Be Trusting of Others
This is very tricky during your first sale. Don't be
afraid to give your customers a better-than-average
money-back promise, and highlight that fact. Most
customers are honest and will not keep your product
while asking for a refund. It may happen occasionally,
but it is the exception, not the rule. Most people
have good intentions.

#7: Admit When You're Wrong
Sometimes you may sell a product that, for whatever
reason, does not deliver as promised. For instance,
your product may contain audio or video files that
do not work as planned. It happens!

If you want to build trust, proactively admit when
you've made a mistake and then do everything you
can to quickly correct it. By admitting you're wrong,
you show you're trustworthy. Your customer knows that
when you admit to being wrong (especially if you're
proactive), you're demonstrating a high level of
honesty and integrity. Just make sure to do it quickly!

#8: Be a Team Player
Approach every sale as if you and your customer are on
the same team. Keep in mind that the goal of every deal
is to find a winning solution for everyone. You make a
sale by solving someone's problem, and they provide you
payment in exchange. A sense of teamwork builds
friendship and camaraderie.

#9: Communicate Clearly
To build trust with customers, you must be clear,
articulate, and precise every time you communicate.
If you're not clear, or seem to be hiding information,
customers will automatically think you have a hidden
agenda and start to distrust you and/or your organization.

#10: Be Fair with Everyone
Being fair means treating people equally. Have a genuine
respect for everyone you sell to. All things being equal,
never give a special discount to one person and not another.
You never know which customers will turn out to be the most
profitable in the long run, so it's best to treat everyone
as if they were your top customer.

#11: Walk Your Talk
Stand behind what you say, do, buy, and sell. If you say
something, mean it. If you sell something, use it. If
you do something, do it with the highest level of integrity.

Be genuine about who you are and never misrepresent yourself
or your product. If you tell your customers that a product
will do something, make sure it does. If you tell a customer
that you provide a special guarantee, honor it.

If you make a habit of using these techniques as often as
possible when interacting with your customers and making sales,
you'll develop stronger relationships and have customers who
buy from you again and again!

But the rationality for you rewriting your articles and submitting them to directories is to acquire backlinks to your blog. In the author's bio box, I'll build a link back to my primary site, then I'll make a link in my 1st and concluding paragraph. I have the links in my first and final paragraphs point directly to the article I just published on my blog. I'll anchor the links with my top keywords for that article. For example, if I published an article about 'fleas' on my 'pet care' site, I might link the phrase, 'how to get rid of fleas', someplace in my 1st paragraph, then I may link the phrase, 'flea control', in my concluding paragraph. The intention of this process is to show the search engines what top keywords you would like to employ to point to the article on your blog.

(4) If you're using Firefox, add the plug in called 'Searchstatus'. This plug in permits you to see the pageranks and the Alexa ratings for whatever site you visit. Additionally, it has the function of highlighting the sites that are dofollow sites. These sites, whenever you make a comment on them, creates a link back to your site. The majority of sites are not dofollow but nofollow, so this cool plug in helps you to not waste your time commenting all over, hoping for a backlink. Make about 3 to 5 comments on sites that have got good pagerank and related content to your blog, and eventually, you'll get indexed by the SEs and you'll begin bringing hits to your blog.

As your blog gets visible to the SEs, a lot of traffic will come to your blog. And if you have Google Adsense set up on your blog displaying relevent advertisements, you visitors could click on them and you might be on your way to making money online.

The 3 Types of Website Traffic

Where does traffic come from? Now I’m not talking about that stuff we all get stuck in during rush hour. Website traffic is essential, if you have no traffic to your website you are not going to get anyone buying your products or reading your articles. Traffic is one of the key components of your website and is available in these three forms.

1. Pay For It.
You can buy traffic typically using what is known as Pay Per Click advertising. The major names in this market are Google and their AdWords program and Yahoo Network Sponsored Search. There are many smaller companies around also but they all follow the same premise.
You create your account, grab a bunch of keywords and create your adverts. You can define the amount you want to spend per click or per day, what geographical areas you want your adverts to appear in and even what time they should appear.
When someone types one of your keywords into for example Google your advert will be displayed down the right hand side of the natural search results. If the searcher then chooses to click on your advert and gets forwarded to your website you will get charged for that click.
The price you pay for each individual click depends on a variety of conditions such as how many other people are competing on that keyword. The more competition the more it costs to be higher up the ranks. The position you want to occupy. The percentage of people who click on your advert, the list goes on.
Pay Per Click advertising can be very successful but has a steep learning curve, it is essential that you do lots of research into your chosen Pay Per Click vender and in the niche you are in.

2. Borrow It.
This option is not for everyone, but in certain niches it can be effective. The first method of borrowing traffic is what is called link exchange. This is where you put links to another website on your site and they put links back to you on theirs. This can be beneficial as you can get traffic from a more successful website reasonably quickly. However this traffic is not always targeted.
The second option in the affiliate marketing world is called a joint venture or a JP. This is essentially where you would contact another marketer or company who had products that complements yours. If they are interested they may send a mailing out to their list or put an entry in their blog alerting their visitors about you and your relevant products.
The key things to remember about borrowing traffic is that you have to give something in return. This can make it tricky when targeting very successful websites.

3. Create It.
Creating your own traffic is one of the best ways to start bringing people into your website. There are literally hundreds of ways to start creating your traffic but I’m just going to tell you about two of the most popular.

Articles are a great way of generating traffic. You can write your articles about your chosen niche, offering advice, definitions, explanations, news, reviews just to name a few. Once you have created your articles you can put them on your website or blog as content. You can also upload them to article directories or even assemble a few of them into a white paper or ebook to give away to visitors.

Video is currently the big thing on the internet world. Everywhere you look there are videos for everything. 50% of all web traffic is video and YouTube alone receives 12.5% of all the traffic out there. YouTube has made it possible for anyone to upload their videos for the whole world to see. Just as you can create an article about anything you can do the same thing with video. The best option is to do both: Create it in print and create it in video.

With a little bit of basic knowledge, you can emulate such success for yourself. This article will provide that information through an easy to follow step-by-step guide.

First, you will need to find a search engine keyword that is highly searched yet not used much by other websites. You can do this by using a keyword analyzer. The best keyword analyzers are those that you pay for, such as Word Tracker or Keyword Analyzer. The reason why these are preferable over free ones is because they let you know how much competition you are facing with a potential keyword. Free ones only tell you how much the keyword has been searched. If money is a problem, try to get a paid keyword analyzer that is offering a free sample, such as WordTracker. You can upgrade to the paid version once you return profit from the sale of your domain name.

With your keyword chosen, you will need to get a domain name and web hosting. Why do you need web hosting if you’re going to sell just the domain name? It’s because you’re going to need a website to drive traffic to that domain name. Without a website visitors won’t want to return to whatever domain name you selected. This lessens the main element that gives a domain name profitability: traffic.

Anyway, try to get a package that will include both web hosting and a domain name at the same time, since you won’t have to worry about transferring anything later. When you choose your domain name, make sure you include your selected keyword in its phrasing. If you find that your selected keyword is taken as a domain name, try making alterations like saying “a1″, “123″ or “101.” For example, say the keyword “Careers” is taken as a domain name. You could say “A1 Careers,” “Careers 123″ or “Careers 101.” Alternatively, you could try searching for a related keyword that isn’t taken as a domain name. Either way, keep trying until you get a memorable yet keyword-rich domain name that still has a .com extension.

Now, you will need to create a website for your domain name. It doesn’t have to be big… even a one-pager could do the trick, if you don’t mind a website so simple. Write an article related to the keyword you chose and create a simple site using Microsoft Word, (make sure you save the document as an .HTML file). Sign up for Adsense and/or an affiliate program, so you can offer additional resources for your visitors. You will also earn a commission if a sale is made or a clickthrough generated, (depending on the program you joined).

Once your website is uploaded, you need to focus on traffic-building. You can get an initial boost by buying traffic, though make sure the company you buy your traffic from uses expired domain names rather than bots or even incentive traffic, (such as paid emails).

But even after this you will need to try to build up inbound links. These are websites that link to you. Post your site on any free site, such as directories, message boards or online classified ads. Also, make sure you submit articles to free article directories. Additionally, try to initiate link exchanges. You can do this by emailing the webmaster or finding link exchange networks such as Link Market.

Keep building up your links until you get a steady stream of traffic. If you get enough traffic, you will get an Alexa rating. If the rating is pleasing, find a domain name appraiser and see how much your domain name can go for. This will give you some idea of how much you can realistically get, but don’t get discouraged if the number seems low. Why? It’s because some people will care more about the traffic your domain name is receiving over the supposed SEO elements of it.

Either way, when you feel you are ready put your domain name up for auction. You may even want to include your original website, though this is optional. When the domain name sells, you will need to transfer it over to the new webmaster’s account… your web hosting company can help you with this.

With your profit you may want to consider doing the venture again with an expired domain name. This will get you a traffic boost without having to go through the actual process of traffic-building, (if you decide you don’t want to do that).

However, this post is a complement to the posts on adsense series, and it is on generating Traffic to your blog. There are different method of generating traffics to your blog or site both online and offline, but i will just point out to you the few ones that i use to get result.

Please note that traffic is the lifeblood of any business both online and offline, and blogging is no exception. You can not make a dime if nobody is visiting your blog or site because this will amount to 'winking in the dark'.Therefore to get your blog or site noticed involves a lot of effort and dedication, and this you must do to make money with your site.

1. Post quality contents regularly: The No.1 secret to driving traffic to your site is posting quality content to your blog to keep your visitors coming back regularly. 2.Write Articles: Another source of free traffic is submitting articles to article directories related to your niche and put your link at the end of the article. Google loves three article directories, they are;
